Privacy by Design – Facial Recognition and Self Exclusion at OLG

Mr. Marinelli graduated from Systems Design Engineering on the Dean’s Honour List at the University of Waterloo in 1978. He received his Professional Engineer designation in 1982. His industry experience ranges from manufacturing process control, military, pharmaceutical and lottery/gaming information technology systems. He has been involved in all aspects of the technology lifecycle from concept through to implementation; architecture, software development, and operations.

He is trained and practiced in software design and quality assurance. His 18 years with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming has been divided equally between IT and Business divisions. Mr. Marinelli is a former board chair and current board member of the Algoma District Community Based Network (ADNET) and former member of the Technology Program Advisory Committee for Sault College. Most recently he has been a panelist on the Green Revolution in Gaming at the Global Gaming Exposition in Las Vegas and a presenter at the Internal Controls conference in Toronto on Enhancing and Sustaining IT controls.
