Eileen MacDonald is chief operating officer of GS1 Canada, a member of GS1, the world’s leading supply chain standards organization.

Overseeing GS1 Canada’s strategic direction, Ms. MacDonald prepares the organization for future growth in emerging technologies and sectors. She is also responsible for implementing brand strategies to cement GS1 Canada’s position as Canada’s leader in globally-recognized supply chain standards.

Ms. MacDonald has had a long and distinguished career in strategic planning, communications, marketing, project management and advertising. Prior to GS1 Canada, she was vice president of marketing and operations at an innovative national loyalty card program, where she was responsible for mass and data marketing, advertising, public relations, member services, communications and business strategy. Ms. MacDonald also spent over eight years in various executive positions at Home Depot, where she was instrumental in implementing the successful rollout of the home improvement retailer across Canada.

Her educational background includes Marketing and Advertising at York University, and Contracts and Law at the University of Toronto. She has lectured at the University of Toronto, as well as York University.
