Ken Anderson is Assistant Commissioner, Privacy, at the Office of the Information & Privacy Commissioner, Ontario (IPC). In addition, Ken is Director of Professional Services which includes responsibility for the Legal Department. Pursuant to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Ken was delegated the responsibility for implementation of PHIPA within the IPC in April of 2004.

Prior to his appointment to his current position, Ken led the administrative tribunal division both as Director of Appeals and as Assistant Commissioner, Access.

Ken began his career in litigation, quickly developing a practice in the administrative law area. He was later appointed Commissioner of Legal Services for Halton Regional Municipality, and then for the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth. Ken also taught privacy law at the University of Ottawa law school for three years.

Ken received his law degree from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a degree in business administration from the Ivey School at the University of Western Ontario.

Ken is a frequent speaker on access & privacy issues.
